About Me

estavillojune2018-13

Dear friend,

Hello and welcome to the Love Begins at Home blog! My name is Nina and I started this blog because I felt that God was calling me to write from my heart about the gift it truly is to be a daughter of God, wife, and mother! Day by day I am learning to do the small, ordinary tasks with great love. I hope to share what I learn along the way as I walk with you on this wild journey.

I attended Franciscan University where I consecrated myself to Jesus through Mary, which rocked my world! Soon after finishing my consecration and through Mary’s intercession I met my bearded and virtuous husband, Adam. My husband is one of the best gifts Jesus and Mary ever brought into my life. Adam and I have two little daughters named Gianna and Maria. Each day in family life God chips away at my selfishness and pride. Through my family He is teaching me a great deal about love and the sacrifices that go along with true love.

My prayer for this blog is that each post will be like a letter from a dear friend. One whom you confide your fears, the ups and downs in life, all while knowing that God is guiding us through this journey. My hope is that when you read each post it will be as if we are sitting down together sipping a cup of coffee or tea as we converse about Jesus, marriage, motherhood, and all things good, true, and beautiful. I pray that by sharing these letters with you as I journey through marriage and family life you may find encouragement and I may be encouraged by all of you as well! I also pray that through these writings God may be glorified.

The name of this blog, Love Begins at Home, is inspired by St. Mother Teresa. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and during her acceptance speech she said this, “Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the action that we do… I want you to find the poor here, right in your own home first. And begin love there.” These inspiring words are memorable, especially the phrase “love begins at home.” This phrase could almost be a Rule of Life as we learn to love our families more deeply. May the Holy Family teach us best!

“If you want world peace, go home to love your family” St. Mother Teresa.

Most importantly, I pray that as this blog grows I may constantly turn to the most perfect family, the Holy Family. May Mary the perfect wife and mother teach me how to love Jesus, my husband, and my children as she does. May she bring me close to her Son Jesus to guide my very being, including my words and deeds. May Jesus reign in the center of our homes and hearts! This blog is placed within the hands of the Holy Family and I ask for their intercession for these writings always.

I am all thine, and all that I have is thine, O most loving Jesus, through MaryThy most holy and Immaculate Mother” St. Louis Marie de Montfort.

Lastly, the aim of this blog is as St. Anthony Mary Claret said, “O my God, I give Thee my word that I will labor, preach, write and circulate good books and pamphlets in abundance, so as to exterminate evil by good.” Along with my family I desire to be a light within the world circulating good content in abundance, so as to exterminate evil by good!

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” John 1:5.

Thank you for visiting and please feel more than free to reach out! Send me your prayer intentions as well because it would be a gift for me to pray for you. Know that I am praying for each of you already!
